Petrified Forest

I am not sure if it is considered a "real" petrified forest, but it certainly looked quite strange. Just a vast plain with jungle and swamp all around. The air was hot, wet, and heavy with insects – it strongly reminded me of Karel Zeman’s Journey to the Beginning of Time. You get the feeling that time has stopped, and something that lived millions of years ago might emerge from the shallow waters at any moment.
